Organizationally, the Facilities Team is part of the larger Campus Services Team, who collectively take pride in creating a world-class work environment for both employees and guests, in addition to being genuinely helpful in all situations. This role is a skilled part of the Facilities team, who works hard to maintain both the employee experience in addition to the 22 buildings at the two Patagonia campuses in Ventura, CA. On the most basic level, the Facilities Team is responsible for non-technical jobs such as setting up for meetings and events, stocking office and janitorial supplies, moving products and furniture, and creating a clean and safe workplace. At a more advanced level, the Facilities Team leads in more technical tasks: like performing preventative maintenance and emergency repairs. Our most successful Facilities team members have plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, welding or other construction related experience. Other advanced aspects of this role are professionally communicating and managing subcontractors that perform on campus projects. The most successful candidates will be organized, have excellent attention to detail, be extremely self-motivated, capable in thriving in a team environment, and willing to be adaptable and flexible with how they spend their time and embrace the company’s mission to save the home planet.
What You’ll Do/Job Functions:
- Engage with employees and use your people skills to understand the problem and work towards a solution.
- Use your keen attention to detail to proactively identify maintenance projects.
- Perform tasks such as stock paper, office, and janitorial supplies, set up for events and move desks, file cabinets and workstations.
- Handle the simple, yet extremely vital facility and janitorial tasks such as wiping tables, cleaning up spills, replacing light bulbs, and bathroom fixture repairs.
- Use your expertise to complete technical projects and share your knowledge with the team to contribute to a learning environment (carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, painting, finish work, landscape repair, door and gate maintenance, and access control systems)
- Use your open mind to learn new things and find better ways to do old things.
- Responsible for always producing quality work that is done in the safest way.
- Foster positive working relationships within the other Campus Services Teams and positive customer service relationships with all employees and outside contractors and vendors.
- Maintain a positive and productive work environment and proactively keep building maintenance and employee experience at the top of mind.
- Stellar customer service, organization and attention to detail are all necessary and critical skills in this role.

Experience You Bring/Job Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience in general maintenance and/or construction with emphasis in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and/or welding.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.

- Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with all levels of personnel, co-workers, and the public in a professional and effective manner.

- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to maintain a composed and professional demeanor within a flexible and (at times noisy) work environment.
- Ability to safely use power tools.
