Patagonia is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Safety & Security Specialist to support all aspects of safety and security across our Ventura locations. This role is vital to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and secure environment for employees, visitors, and the broader community. What You’ll Do / Job Functions
- Conduct regular patrols on foot or bicycle to identify and mitigate hazards, threats, and unsafe conditions.
- Respond to incidents including medical emergencies, fire alarms, suspicious activity, and environmental hazards.
- Monitor and assess safety systems such as CCTV, access control, fire/intrusion alarms, and emergency communication tools.
- Collaborate with internal teams (HR, Facilities, Management) to uphold safety and security standards.
- Lead or support emergency drills, evacuations, and incident response procedures.
- Administer first aid and emergency medical care; maintain active certifications in CPR, AED, and First Aid.
- Ensure safety during childcare and outdoor activities, responding promptly to any incidents.
- Document incidents, hazards, and safety/security activities in detailed reports.
- Assist in developing and enhancing safety protocols, systems, and training programs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire safety regulations, and emergency response standards.
- Provide respectful and professional service to all staff, visitors, and community members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience You Bring / Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of combined experience in physical security, emergency response, customer service, or outdoor safety (preferred).
- Familiarity with emergency crisis and incident management.
- High school diploma or GED; must be at least 21 years old.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and complete Live Scan.
- Ability to obtain a California BSIS Guard Card within 90 days of hire.
- Current or obtainable certifications in First Aid, CPR, and AED.
- Knowledge of OSHA and fire safety regulations.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and collaboration tools (Teams, Zoom).
- Experience with security systems including CCTV, access control, visitor management, and emergency communication tools.
Physical & Schedule Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Capable of standing, walking, climbing stairs, and performing physical tasks for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in small or occasionally noisy environments.
- Full-time availability with flexibility for evenings, weekends, overtime, and on-call shifts.
- Willingness to adjust schedule in response to emergencies or operational needs.
- Occasional travel may be required; all travel is scheduled in advance and company-paid.
