The Sr. Tax Accountant duties include preparation of US, state and foreign tax returns and the ASC 740 tax provision. This role will also lead strategic initiatives to modernize our tax function through automation, data optimization, and process redesign to support the company’s mission: We’re in Business to Save Our Home Planet.

What You’ll Do:
- U.S federal and all state tax compliance including preparation of returns, extensions and estimated tax payments.
- Assist with the quarterly and year-end tax provision in accordance with ASC 740.
- Provides support for tax audits.
- Tax depreciation, tax fixed asset basis tracking and property tax issues.
- Assist with the foreign income tax compliance.
- Use tax research software to research and resolve tax questions.
- Assist with Sales tax issues.
- Lead and implement tax technology solutions (e.g., automation tools, data integration).
- Identify opportunities to streamline tax processes, improve controls, and enhance reporting.
- Partner with IT and finance to implement tax-related digital transformation initiatives.
- Drive adoption of best practices and emerging technologies in the tax domain.

Experience You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA, Big 4 public accounting experience
- Three years of income tax experience with consolidated tax returns, multi-state income tax returns and preferably foreign tax issues
- Excellent computer skills with knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications and advanced excel knowledge.
- Experience with D365, Power BI and/or TM1
- Experience with tax transformation projects and tax technology (e.g., Alteryx, OneSource, Vertex)
Hiring range: $100,000 to $107,000
At Patagonia, pay ranges are assigned to a job based on the location specific market median of similar jobs according to 3rd party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary for several reasons including skills/capabilities, experience, and available budget. Note the full pay range for this role ranges from: $92,900 to $139,300 USD. The Hiring Range reflects where in the range we intend to hire for this role.
