The Breakdown:
The Assistant Store Manager works closely with the Store Manager [and Associate Store Manager] to drive sales performance and lead the store staff to achieve daily, weekly and monthly sales goals and KPI’s. The Assistant Store Manager provides coaching, feedback and development on a consistent basis to the store team to ensure outstanding Customer Experience. This position is also responsible for maintaining Burton visual merchandising standards and daily store maintenance, coordinating merchandise replenishment, inventory management, and training staff on customer service standards, sales skills and operational policies and procedures. The Assistant Store Manager utilizes sales reports to identify and maximize sales opportunities within their designated department(s).
The Assistant Store Manager must have the ability, skillset and experience in all of the following areas:
Sales Performance
- Lead by example with high quality sales interactions and achieve store goals of UPT and ADH
- Focus on daily, weekly, monthly goals
- Set and communicate daily sales goals for sales associates
- Report and coach on store KPI’s (UPT, ADS, Conversion Rate, Email Capture)
- Drive staff daily to achieve sales targets
- Motivate staff during sales contests and promotions
Floor Management
- Act as floor manager, designated to driving business
- Conduct daily and afternoon shift meetings to go over the daily show
- Ensure all customer opportunities are maximized
- Direct staff to customers as needed
- Handle difficult customer situations while remaining calm and ensuring a positive experience for all customers
Attitude
- Display positive attitude every day
- Remain calm, cool and positive in challenging situations
Training/Coaching
- Utilize New Hire Training Binder to train associates on all store operations, procedures, policies, standards
- Train all associates on selling skills and customer service
- Consistently provide in the moment sales and job coaching to peers, while on the sales floor
- Follow up with sales associates by providing feedback to improve performance
- Recognize and commend good performance
Product Knowledge
- Extensive product knowledge in all categories, as well as selling strategies
- Knowledgeable in current trends and new product categories and selection
- Train staff on product knowledge
