About Us
High West Distillery is Utah's first legal distillery since 1870, founded in 2006 by David Perkins and his wife Jane in Park City, Utah. Inspired by a trip to a Kentucky whiskey distillery, biochemist David Perkins brought his scientific background to craft world-class American whiskey in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.
What began as a small 250-gallon still in a historic livery stable has grown into an internationally-recognized, award-winning brand. High West is home to the world's first and only ski-in gastro-distillery — the legendary High West Saloon, located at the base of Park City Resort's Quittin' Time ski run. Named Distiller of the Year by Whisky Advocate in 2016, High West crafts distinctive whiskeys that celebrate the adventurous spirit of the American West.
High West is part of Constellation Brands and operates two locations in Park City, Utah: the original Saloon in Old Town and the High West Distillery on Blue Sky Ranch, where they produce award-winning expressions including Double Rye!, Whiskey Canyon, and American Prairie Bourbon.
