General Summary
Dishwasher is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, utensils, and cookware using industrial dishwashing machines or manual methods; maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen areas by sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, and emptying trash; organizing and restocking clean items in their proper storage locations for easy access by kitchen staff; monitoring dishwashing equipment to ensure proper functionality and reporting any issues to supervisors; assisting with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling vegetables or portioning ingredients when needed; following health and safety guidelines to prevent contamination and maintain a hygienic environment; supporting kitchen staff during busy hours by quickly turning around clean items and helping with general tasks; and handling cleaning supplies and chemicals safely while using appropriate protective gear.
The Dishwasher plays a critical role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, ensuring that all kitchenware and equipment are clean, organized, and ready for use. This role is essential for keeping a kitchen running smoothly and maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

What You’ll Do
- Dishwasher will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor daily.
- Strong level of time management
- Must maintain a sense of urgency, work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using industrial dishwashing equipment or manual methods
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, and taking out trash
- Oversee inventory management and maintain clear communication with Lead Cook to support operational efficiency
- Support the receiving process and ensure all items are accurately stored in their assigned areas in compliance with organizational standards.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in compliance with local and company regulations and health department
- Restock clean items in designated storage areas to support kitchen operations
- Operate, clean, and maintain equipment, and tools in a safe and efficient manner
- Monitor dishwashing equipment for proper functioning and report any maintenance needs
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks when required
- Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a hygienic work environment
- Support kitchen staff during busy service periods by quickly turning around clean items
- Follow company policies and procedures, including punctual and reliable attendance
- Ensure the work area remains clean, organized, and maintained in accordance with company and health department standards
- Exhibit safe work habits that support a culture of accident prevention and workplace safety
- Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards by the health department, state, and company regulations
- Safely handle cleaning chemicals and use protective gear as needed
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, professional approach with coworkers, customers and vendors and team-oriented workplace culture
- Must exhibit strong teamwork skills.
- Perform duties at various sites across the Reno and Verdi campuses as operational needs require.
